Introducing the Crankk Card: Kadena On-Chain Virtual Debit Card!

We have long thought of extending Crankk’s service offerings with DeFI features that are designed to make it easier for our users to confidently navigate the crypto landscape, learn and see what’s possible.

It has also been brought to our attention that keeping your gateway wallets funded for gas fees is a bit of an inconvenience.

Considering that we have started onboarding new gateways to a new chain, we felt that it was important to develop a feature that helps with funding your gateway accounts securely and automatically from your primary wallet and at the same time open up a new range of possibilities to provide comfort and convenience for your crypto finances.

There have been a few challenges there but we feel like we found a good solution. What were those challenges?

• You as the Crankk Card wallet owner need to remain in control of your wallet
• We still need a way to distribute funds to your linked wallets automatically based on the parameters and rules you set
• Crosschain funding should be possible as well
• Opportunity for future integration with one-time purchases, payment plans, sunscription services

How will you use it and how do these challenges get solved?

• With one click you’ll be able to create a Crankk Card Wallet from your primary wallet
• With a simple action you’ll be able to link your gateway wallets to be automatically funded from your Crankk Card Wallet and also disable it at will. Only you should be able to link and unlink wallets acting with your primary wallet
• There will be default minimum and maximum values set depending on whether it’s a consensus node or regular gateway but you’ll be able to change those
• Minimum is the minimum balance below which an automated top-up will be triggered
• Maximum is the amount you want your linked wallet to be topped-up to
• There will be a rate limit like once a day as the maximum frequency of an automated top-up action to prevent repeating top-ups frequently
• With one click you’ll be able to fund your Crankk Card from your primary wallet as well as move funds back from the card if needed

This setup gives you sole control of your connected wallets which is very important. It also prevents repeated top-up cycles. It maximizes the amount that will be transferred per top-up and makes sure you end up with exactly the desired balance on each linked wallet and not more. You’ll be able to follow your top-up history right from your dashboard and change parameters if you want.

Crosschain funding is also an included feature. Your balance on the Crankk Card will sit on chain 0 and still fund your gateway wallets on other chains as well.
